About Recycled Metals
Where does recycled gold and silver come from?
Recycled metals are reclaimed from items like old jewellery, coins, electronics, and industrial scraps. They’re melted down, refined, and transformed into something new.
Is recycled gold and silver good quality?
Absolutely! Recycled gold and silver are refined to the same high standards as newly mined metals, offering the same durability and beauty with a smaller environmental footprint.
Why should I choose recycled gold and silver jewellery?
Jewellery made from recycled metals is just as strong, durable, and long-lasting as newly mined metals, but with less environmental impact. It’s a sustainable choice you can feel good about.
Does buying recycled gold and silver jewelley help the environment?
Yes! Choosing recycled jewellery reduces the demand for mining, conserves natural resources, and minimises waste—making it an eco-friendly choice that supports a healthier planet.
What is gold-fill?
Gold-fill is made by bonding a thick layer of solid 14k gold to a sterling silver base. We use it to create jewellery that’s not only long-lasting and tarnish-resistant but affordable too. Unlike gold plating, it won’t flake or fade, giving you all the beauty of solid gold without the hefty price tag.
Is silver tarnishing a sign of poor quality?
Not at all! Tarnishing is a natural reaction when silver is exposed to air and moisture—it
happens to all silver, no matter the quality. Regular cleaning and proper care will keep your silver jewellery tarnish-free.
Gold-fill and Vermeil
All our gold chains and findings are made from 14k gold-fill—a thick layer of solid gold bonded over a sterling silver base. The gold layer is both hard-wearing and tarnish-resistant making it a great affordable alternative to solid gold.
We use vermeil for a few of our pendant designs. Vermeil is a thick layer of solid gold over sterling silver. This means no flaking, fading, or discolouration, so your jewellery stays beautiful for years to come.
Sterling Silver
For our silver designs, we use 925 sterling silver, which is 92.5% pure silver mixed with harder metals to make it more robust than pure silver. Its strength and durability makes it ideal for everyday wear.
Gemstones
Full transparency in the gemstone industry can be challenging, but we prioritise suppliers who provide as much traceability as possible. We work with trusted suppliers who have direct relationships with small, community-based mines that support fair wages, sustainable practices, and local communities.
Some of our gemstones come from "fair mined" sources, meaning they can be directly traced back to responsible mines that prioritise worker rights and ethical practices. Our suppliers also invest in initiatives that educate miners and ensure they receive fair prices for their work.
Enamel Charms
Enamel is a versatile and durable material we use for some of our designs. It’s made by fusing powdered glass to metal at high temperatures, creating a smooth, vibrant finish that’s resistant to wear and tear. Our enamel pieces are crafted with care, using sustainable materials and eco-friendly practices to minimise environmental impact.

Jewellery Hallmarking
Many of our minimal pieces don’t meet the weight threshold for hallmarking (1g for gold, 7.78g for silver), so you’ll only find a hallmark on the clasp, marking them as 14K gold-fill or 925 sterling silver.
To ensure quality and authenticity, all our jewellery is independently tested by third-party companies. -
