New GPSR Rules: Why We’re Pausing EU and NI Orders
the Founder of Oh My Clumsy Heart
An Important Update
From 13th December, new rules under the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) will come into effect, and unfortunately, this means Oh My Clumsy Heart will no longer be able to accept orders from customers in Europe or Northern Ireland.
This decision breaks my heart, but as a one-person business, I simply can’t afford the high compliance costs these new regulations demand.
What GPSR Legislation Means for EU and Northern Ireland Customers
The GPSR is designed to tackle the environmental and safety issues caused by large corporations flooding the market with poorly made, unsustainable products. While its intentions are good, the reality is that small businesses like mine are being hit the hardest.
It’s especially frustrating that big corporations—the very ones this legislation is meant to hold accountable—can easily adapt, while small makers like me, who already prioritise quality and sustainability, are being pushed out of the market.
I know this news will disappoint many of you, and it deeply saddens me too. While Oh My Clumsy Heart won’t be able to ship to EU and NI customers after December 13th, I’ll continue crafting thoughtful, sustainable jewellery for the rest of the world.
For our UK and non-EU customers, your orders and delivery options will stay the same.
